Why Walk When You Could Dance
Modern Dance seniors simultaneously reflect and look forward with "Why Walk When You Could Dance" — Senior Concerts 1 and 2
The Modern Dance Graduating Cohort of 2023 presents a body of work swimming with sincerity, humor, beauty, and above all, an astounding sense of individuality— met with the profound gift of community.
Why Walk When You Could Dance refers to two concerts spanning two weekends, each concert is a medley of work directed and choreographed by the seniors. Truly a culmination of their time spent within the school of dance, growing and maturing as artists and people, Why Walk When You Could Dance is at once reflective and expansive.
These shows include a work set on the senior class curated by WHYTEBERG, the Los Angeles-based contemporary dance theater duo of Gracie Whyte and Laura Berg. These honored guests of the School of Dance created a celebration of dance, aiding in the crescendo that is the experience of being the graduating senior class.
A unique, once-in-a-lifetime, impossible-to-imagine, and jaw-dropping experience of a dance show, Why Walk When You Could Dance will probably change lives forever and no doubt for the better.
